The people behind Ecousta
Our Story
Lumii did not begin as an acoustic brand. It began with a single brief.
In 2023, a major brand approached Julian Grindall to develop a lighting range using acoustic felt. It was a natural fit. Nearly 30 years earlier, Julian had pioneered acoustic screens and built a strong reputation in PET and acoustic solutions.
The lighting collection was created successfully and was originally intended to stand alone. Instead, it sparked something bigger.
What began as a lighting range quickly evolved. The material, its performance, and its design potential opened the door to a wider vision. Lumii expanded beyond lighting into acoustic solutions for walls, ceilings, screens, and integrated systems.
Our next chapter...
From May 2026, Lumii has become Ecousta. The same team. The same expertise. A name that reflects what we do.
Alongside the new name, there is a lot that is new too. We have been busy behind the scenes, building out new product ranges and bringing everything together in a new website we are really proud of.
We are based on a working farm in the heart of East Sussex. Our design studio, office, warehouse and production hall all operate side-by-side, giving us the freedom to prototype, test, refine and deliver with care.
This is the team that inspires us to keep raising the bar.
